How do I run a traceroute, retrieve a source IP?

During trobleshooting, source IPs and traceroutes from end-users are important utilities to investigate the routes used to reach a destination.


To run a traceroute
1: In Start menu, click "Run"
2: Type "cmd" in the box to start the command prompt
3: Type in "tracert xxx.com"

To collect your IP address or to assist end-users to collect their IP address:

Search for "IP Address" in a search engine such as Google or Bing. The IP will be displayed in the search result.
